Give the gift of inclusion and adventure

A gift of $3,000 allows a person with a disability and their family and friends to spend a guided day out on the water aboard the Everyone Everywhere, the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessible Outdoors Program’s new, accessible vessel. Together, they’ll experience the joy of conservation fishing, wildlife viewing, and the freedom of nature without barriers.

Why It Matters

The Everyone Everywhere changes that. With its wide entry door, wheelchair-friendly captain’s chair lift, and barrier-free design, it opens the water to people who have long been excluded. Since launching, more than 100 individuals have already participated in our program, with a goal of 500 by next year.

Spending time outdoors goes beyond having fun. Research shows that access to nature reduces stress, improves mental health, and strengthens social connections. When you fund a day on the water, you’re giving lasting memories, renewed confidence, and a sense of belonging.

Real Impact

For nine-year-old Simon, who lives with Morquio syndrome and sometimes uses a wheelchair, the experience was unforgettable, according to his mom, Becs.

“Once you remove those barriers that you’d normally have on an outdoor adventure like that… it’s just so much easier for him to be absolutely part of it,” she said. “It was an idyllic day in a million different ways. We all came off the water just beaming.”

Simon noticed the Everyone Everywhere difference right away: “They had a cool door that opened to the dock you could roll on instead of climbing over the side. Rick let me go up to the captain’s seat… and then he raised me up so I could see out on the water!”

He added: “Meaningful accessibility… it’s not one size fits all. But when you have a boat like that, you’re giving people as many options as possible.”
